Until April 2009, our local borough and county councils are Restormel Borough Council and Cornwall County Council.

In April 2009, the services you currently receive from the District, Borough and County Councils will be delivered by a new single council. A unified council for Cornwall.

		Restormel Borough Council		Responsible for:  Housing, Environmental Health, Local Planning, Beach Safety, Refuse Collection, Recycling, Leisure Centres, Council Tax Collection, Economic Development, Tourist Information Centres
		Cornwall County Council		Responsible for:  Education (all state schools, but not higher education), Social Services, Highways (except trunk roads), Cornwall Fire Brigade, Trading Standards, Strategic Planning, Road Safety, Rights of Way. ONECORNWALL		One Cornwall The new unitary authority		Will take over all the above roles
